Friday Rust Wipes in EU: Fresh Servers Going Into the Weekend

Friday wipes are the head start into the weekend. A 14:00 CEST reset gives you Friday evening on a brand-new map, one day after the Thursday wipe rush, with Saturday and Sunday still ahead of you.

Why a Friday 14:00 wipe works

Thursday is the loudest day in Rust. Force wipe lands on the first Thursday of every month, many weekly servers stack their resets around it, and the queues show it. A Friday afternoon wipe sits one day behind that rush: you still get a fresh map, but you start it going into the weekend instead of at the end of a work week.

RustFront has two Friday servers in the EU, and on their normal schedule both wipe at the same moment: Friday 14:00 CEST, on the Europe/Berlin wall clock. By the time evening prime hours start, the map is a few hours old instead of a few days old. Both are offline for maintenance at the moment, so the Friday slot is paused until the network comes back.

That timing is the whole pitch. A Thursday map is half-decided by Friday night. A Friday 14:00 wipe means the first roams, the first monuments, and the first compounds all happen while your weekend is still in front of you.

Who Friday wipes suit

Friday wipes reward players who plan their Rust around the weekend rather than around force wipe itself.

If your whole group only plays weekends, also compare the Saturday wipe on EU Weekend, covered in the Saturday guide linked below. Friday 14:00 buys you an evening head start; a Saturday wipe buys a start the whole group can attend.

  • Players who cannot make the Thursday force-wipe evening but still want a near-fresh weekend map.
  • Groups that want a shared start with two full days ahead of it.
  • Solos and small teams who prefer a quieter start over a packed force-wipe queue.
  • Anyone tired of joining Thursday maps a day late, when the good spots are already claimed.

EU Small or EU 2x: picking your Friday server

Both servers share the Friday 14:00 CEST slot, so the choice is not about timing. It is about pace and population. Neither is joinable while the network is offline for maintenance, so this is a decision to make now and act on when they return.

EU Small is the vanilla option: a 3K balanced map with a 150-player initial cap that rises to a 250 soft cap. It is deliberately the quieter, lower-population start, which makes the early game readable for solos and small groups.

EU 2x is the modded option and is beta-flagged. The ruleset is called Vanilla+ - No P2W: 2x gather with vanilla base loot plus small bonus rolls, larger stacks, fast smelt, and 2x crafting, alongside custom plugins like Bus Travel, Scrap Cases, and Bonus Loot. There are no kits, no teleport, and no homes. It is configured for up to 450 players, so expect a much busier map than EU Small.

  • Pick EU Small for pure vanilla progression and a calmer 3K map.
  • Pick EU 2x for faster farm and crafting with vanilla-feeling loot and bigger fights.
  • Both share the same line on paid perks: nothing in the store changes gameplay.

Other Friday options in EU

Fewer EU servers wipe on Friday than on Thursday, but RustFront is not the only network using the day. If neither Friday server fits, it is worth checking the alternatives honestly instead of forcing a bad match.

Whichever server you consider, compare it on the same basics: region and ping, wipe time against your evening, population against map size, and whether paid perks change gameplay.

  • Heatline is another network with Friday wipe options; check its own wipe page for exact times and current population.
  • Confirm the wipe actually happened on a live wipe list before committing your evening to any server.
  • Prefer servers that publish their schedule, caps, and rules up front rather than only in Discord.

How to join cleanly at 14:00

The wipe-day routine is worth knowing before the servers are back: open the server page before 14:00 CEST and keep the live wipe list visible, so you can see the row move from upcoming to fresh. Join as soon as the server returns from its reset, because the first minutes decide your spawn area and your neighbours.

Each server page normally shows the exact connect command with a copy button, so you can paste it into the F1 console instead of scrolling the in-game server browser while the queue builds. During the maintenance window the pages show an offline state instead, since there is nothing to connect to.

RustFront keeps Supporter and VIP to queue skip only. There are no kits, items, resources, gather boosts, or combat perks in the store, and non-VIP players are never kicked to make room for VIP players.

A restart is not a wipe

One point of confusion worth clearing up: when the network is up, every RustFront server restarts daily around 05:00 Europe/Berlin. That is a short maintenance restart, not a wipe. Your base, tool cupboards, and inventory are exactly where you left them when the server comes back. The current downtime is a different thing entirely: the servers are offline for a longer maintenance stretch, so nothing is restarting nightly either.

On the Friday servers, the map resets only at the scheduled Friday 14:00 CEST wipe. The one addition is monthly force wipe: on the first Thursday of each month, the Facepunch update resets the map on every Rust server that is running, and that includes EU Small and EU 2x once they are back.

This guide deliberately avoids hard-coded dates. The live wipe list and each server page always show the current status and the next scheduled reset, which stays accurate in a way no article can.

Common questions

When do the RustFront Friday servers wipe?

Not at the moment. RustFront EU Small and RustFront EU 2x are both offline for maintenance, so the Friday reset is paused. Their slot on the fixed schedule is Friday at 14:00 CEST in the Europe/Berlin timezone, and it runs again when the servers come back. The live wipe list and the server pages carry the current status.

The server restarted overnight. Did it wipe?

No. When the network is running, RustFront servers restart daily around 05:00 Europe/Berlin for maintenance, and bases, tool cupboards, and inventories are untouched. The map only resets at the scheduled Friday 14:00 CEST wipe or at the monthly force wipe. Right now the servers are down for a longer maintenance window, so there are no nightly restarts either.

Is EU 2x pay-to-win?

No. EU 2x is modded with a ruleset called Vanilla+ - No P2W: 2x gather with vanilla base loot, larger stacks, fast smelt, and 2x crafting, but no kits, no teleport, no homes, and no paid gameplay advantages. Supporter and VIP stay queue skip only.

Do the Friday servers also wipe at force wipe?

Yes, whenever they are running. The monthly force wipe on the first Thursday of each month resets the map on every live Rust server because the update makes old map data incompatible, and that includes both Friday servers. While the RustFront network is offline for maintenance there is nothing to reset, and the rule applies again once the servers return.

Which Friday server is better for a solo player?

Both are offline for maintenance right now, so neither is joinable today. When they return: EU Small is the quieter start, vanilla rules on a 3K balanced map with a 150-player initial cap rising to a 250 soft cap. EU 2x is configured for up to 450 players with 2x rates, which means more action but also more contested monuments.
