Thursday Rust Wipes in EU: The Classic Wipe Day, Three Fresh Starts

Thursday is the day the whole Rust wipe calendar bends around, and RustFront leans into it. Three EU vanilla servers sit on the Thursday ladder, staggered at 12:00, 14:00, and 17:00 CEST, so whether you play solo, run a trio, or want a high-pop flagship start, wipe day has a slot that fits. Those servers are offline for maintenance at the moment, so the ladder is paused until they come back.

Why Thursday is Rust's wipe day

Thursday is not a community habit that appeared out of nowhere. Facepunch's own default server wipe timer targets the first Thursday of every month at 19:00 London time, which is 20:00 CEST during European summer time, per the official Facepunch wiki. That is when the monthly force wipe lands, and it anchors the entire Rust calendar.

Because every server has to reset its map on force-wipe Thursday anyway, a weekly Thursday schedule fits the monthly cycle perfectly. Every wipe runs its full week, and you never end up with an awkward two-day map squeezed in just before force wipe.

The result is that Thursday carries more wipe energy than any other day: more fresh maps, more players planning a start, and more competition for a good server.

Three wipes, one day: the 12:00, 14:00, 17:00 ladder

RustFront puts three EU vanilla servers on Thursday, spaced two to three hours apart. The schedule is fixed and does not slip while the network is running: the same servers wipe at the same times each week, published in CEST on the Europe/Berlin wall clock. It is paused for the current maintenance window rather than changed.

The spacing is the point. If you cannot make the midday start, the 14:00 or 17:00 wipe is still ahead of you. Missing one rung is not missing wipe day.

  • EU Trio, 12:00 CEST: vanilla, max team of 3, 3.5K map, 250 max population.
  • EU Solo, 14:00 CEST: vanilla, solo only (team size 1), 3K map, 150 max population.
  • EU Main, 17:00 CEST: the vanilla flagship with a 400-player cap and the biggest Thursday start of the three.

Which Thursday start fits you

The ladder below is how the Thursday schedule is built. All three servers are offline for maintenance at the moment, so none of them is joinable today, and the slots start running again when the network comes back.

EU Trio at 12:00 is for groups of up to three. The early slot gives the quietest first hours of the day, and by evening prime time a group is fighting over a map that has had time to develop instead of racing the launch rush.

EU Solo at 14:00 is for players who want every fight to be one versus one. The one-player team limit is enforced through human review, the 3K map keeps a 150-player server feeling busy, and the afternoon wipe leaves the whole evening for the early game.

EU Main at 17:00 is the classic high-pop Thursday start. It is scheduled right as the EU evening begins, so the launch lands when the most players are around. For traditional wipe-day chaos on the flagship, that is the rung to pick once it is back.

The force-wipe exception on the first Thursday

Once a month, Thursday belongs to Facepunch. On the first Thursday of the month, the weekly 12:00, 14:00, and 17:00 slots are skipped and the monthly force wipe replaces them for the whole fleet. That is how the calendar works whenever the fleet is up; during the maintenance window neither the weekly nor the monthly reset runs.

The scheduled moment is 20:00 CEST, but expect 20:00 to 21:00 CEST in practice. The wipe can only happen once Facepunch ships the monthly update, and the exact hour drifts slightly from patch to patch.

Force wipe is the one wipe no running server opts out of: the monthly update makes old map data incompatible, so every server, official or community, starts a fresh map. For the current cycle's exact date, use the force wipe guide or the live wipe list rather than a date printed in an article.

The 05:00 restart is not a wipe

While the network is running, every RustFront server restarts daily around 05:00 Europe/Berlin. That is a short maintenance restart, not a wipe: the map, your base, tool cupboards, and inventories all persist through it.

If a server is briefly offline in the early morning, nothing has been lost. Wipes only happen at the published schedule times, and the live wipe list shows the real status of every server. The longer maintenance stretch the fleet is in now is a different thing: the servers stay down until the work is finished rather than coming back the same morning.

How to join a Thursday wipe cleanly

Pick your rung on the ladder and open its server page before the wipe time. Each page shows the connect command with a copy button, so you can paste it into the F1 console the moment the server comes back from its reset. That flow returns with the network: while the servers are offline for maintenance the pages show an offline state instead of a command.

RustFront keeps Supporter and VIP to queue skip only. No kits, no resources, no gameplay perks are sold, and non-VIP players are never kicked to make room. The only thing paying changes on wipe day is your position in the queue, never what happens once you are in the game.

  • Open the server page ahead of time and keep the connect command ready.
  • Watch the live wipe list for the row to flip from upcoming to fresh.
  • Once EU Main is back, plan to be ready before 17:00 rather than joining later into a developing map.

Common questions

What time do RustFront servers wipe on Thursday?

The Thursday ladder is EU Trio at 12:00, EU Solo at 14:00, and EU Main at 17:00 CEST, on a fixed schedule, with those slots skipped on the first Thursday of the month so the monthly force wipe can replace them in the evening. None of it is running at the moment: the servers are offline for maintenance, and the ladder resumes when they come back.

Why is Thursday the classic Rust wipe day?

Facepunch's default server wipe timer targets the first Thursday of every month at 19:00 London time, which puts the monthly force wipe on a Thursday. Weekly community schedules align to the same day so every wipe runs its full length before the next forced reset.

What happens on force-wipe Thursday?

On a normal cycle the weekly wipes are skipped and the whole fleet force wipes in the evening. The scheduled moment is 20:00 CEST, but expect 20:00 to 21:00 CEST because the wipe lands when Facepunch ships the monthly update. With the RustFront servers offline for maintenance, that evening reset is paused until they return.

Is the daily 05:00 restart a wipe?

No. When the network is up, every server restarts around 05:00 Europe/Berlin for stability and everything persists: the map, bases, and inventories. Wipes only happen at the published schedule times. The servers are currently down for a longer maintenance window, which is not a wipe either.

Do I need VIP to play a Thursday wipe?

No. VIP is queue skip only. There are no kits, items, or gameplay advantages, and non-VIP players are never kicked to make room for VIP.
