Rust wipe schedule
When is the next Rust wipe?
The next Rust force wipe is Thu, 1 October 2026. Facepunch's wipe timer targets 20:00 Europe/Berlin, which is 18:00 UTC, and servers reset as the monthly update actually ships, usually inside the hour that follows.
Has the update released yet?
Facepunch stages the build on Steam before either app updates, so these flip in order. The two Steam rows are read from Steam and the framework rows from GitHub, once a minute.
- Build cutReleasedshipped to public
- Server updateReleasedlive 19:29
- Client updateReleasedlive 19:44
- OxideReleasedlive 19:32
- CarbonReleasedlive 18:46
Once the client updates, restart Steam to pull it. Servers wipe as they restart on the new build, so joinable servers trickle back over the following hour. RustFront server status tracks ours.
What is in the September 2026 update?
Livestock is the big one: sheep and cattle you lead, name, feed and breed, with fences to keep them in. Underneath it, a rebuilt underground train network, a character creator, and monument blockers that finally have sane health.

- Force wipe
- First Thursday of every month, when Facepunch ships the monthly update. Every server gets a fresh map and everything built on it is gone. Practically every server follows it, because the new build usually will not load the old map anyway.
- Blueprint wipe
- Separate from the map. Official servers reset learned blueprints on force wipe; community servers set their own blueprint policy, so some carry your knowledge across. Check the server before you commit a wipe to it.
- Weekly and biweekly wipes
- The server owner's choice, usually a fresh map on a fixed weekday to keep the server from stagnating between force wipes. Blueprints normally survive these.

The next Rust force wipe dates
| Force wipe | Europe/Berlin | UTC |
|---|---|---|
| Thu, 1 October 2026 | 20:00 | 18:00 |
| Thu, 5 November 2026 | 20:00 | 19:00 |
| Thu, 3 December 2026 | 20:00 | 19:00 |
| Thu, 7 January 2027 | 20:00 | 19:00 |
| Thu, 4 February 2027 | 20:00 | 19:00 |
Facepunch has kept to the first Thursday for years, so these are safe to plan around. The Berlin hour never moves because the timer is anchored to London; it is the UTC column that shifts by an hour across the European clock change.
Common questions
- What time does Rust force wipe?
- Facepunch's default wipe timer is anchored to 19:00 London time on the first Thursday of the month, so the UK hour never moves and Central Europe reads 20:00 all year. What moves is UTC: 18:00 through European summer time and 19:00 through winter. The wipe cannot finish before the monthly update publishes, which lands around 2 PM US Eastern, so in practice servers come back fresh between 20:00 and 21:00 Central European time.
- Do blueprints wipe every month in Rust?
- Force wipe resets every map. Whether blueprints go with it is each server's own policy: official servers wipe them on the first Thursday, and community servers choose. That is why a server list says "map wipe" or "BP wipe" rather than just "wipe", and it is worth checking before you pick where to play.
- How do I know when the Rust update has actually released?
- Facepunch cuts the build to the Steam release branch first, then updates the dedicated server app, then the client. This page tracks those from Steam, and the Oxide and Carbon framework releases from GitHub, so you can see which have shipped before you restart Steam.
