How loot chance works
The chance that a freshly spawned container, or a killed NPC, rolls at least one Metal Detector. Container chances are before inventory limits: a full crate can discard rolled items, while bonus scrap drops beside it.

Repair cost rules
A half worn item costs half as much to repair. Rust stores no repair cost. The bench builds one from the crafting recipe: components are swapped for the first ingredient of their own recipe, then everything is charged at 20% and rounded up.

Detects metal objects which may otherwise be hidden. When the light flashes, or you hear a beep, aim to search for items. Increase the bar until a flag appears. Dig at the flag with a melee item to reveal what it is. Different areas yield different rewards
