Rust Easter event 2027

Facepunch has not announced the 2027 date; past years point to around Thursday 18 March 2027.

What Easter adds

  • Egg Hunt

    Every 24 to 38 in-game hours, painted eggs spawn around each player for 3 minutes. A leaderboard tracks the hunt and the top 3 get special eggs.

  • Egg upgrades

    Ten of one tier make one of the next, as the item descriptions state. The top tier is described as containing the best Easter loot.

  • Faster collecting

    Egg Basket: picks eggs up instantly and throws them. Found in: Bronze Egg.

  • Egg Vision

    Bunny Ears (found in: Bronze Egg) and Bunny Onesie (found in: Silver Egg) grant extra Egg Vision.

  • Primitive serversSince 2025

    On Primitive servers only, silver and gold eggs can also contain medieval siege gear, and gold eggs Satchel Charge and Propane Explosive Bomb. Vanilla servers never roll these.

  • Item Store

    Most years Facepunch adds a decorative egg with a music box and costumes to the Item Store.

  • No NPCs or monuments

    Easter adds no event NPCs and decorates no monuments.

Common questions

When does the 2027 Easter event start?

Facepunch has not announced it yet. Based on past years it should start around Thursday 18 March 2027. Past starts fell 2 to 10 days before Easter Sunday: 18 March to 26 March in 2027. We switch to the official date when Facepunch posts it.

When does the Easter event end?

Facepunch has not stated an end yet. Recent Easter events ran about two weeks, so expect it to end around Thursday 1 April 2027.

Is the Easter update a wipe?

It depends on the year. When the April force wipe falls on the Thursday before Easter, the event arrives with that wipe (2021, 2023, 2026). Otherwise it comes in a separate update that does not wipe (2020, 2022, 2024, 2025).

How often does the egg hunt run?
